Civil and Transport Stirlings
The Stirling transport never really caught the imagination of the civil operator though at least six squadrons were equipped with the type in RAF transport command. Shorts made great efforts to sell the Stirling transport to the civil market as both a freighter and passenger-carrying aircraft but only one firm in Belgium named Transair operated them and these were, in fact, surplus MkV RAF aircraft.Transair acquired ten of them.

In 1948 Belgium sold at least three MkV's to Egypt for training Egyptian crews. What happened to these Egyptian Stirlings is unclear.
